Lovingkindness Reading Plan
My favorite word is “Lovingkindness”. It is made up by Bible translators that come from the Hebrew word “chesed”. It means: “unmerited favor towards a covenant partner.” It appears about 250 times in the Bible, and this is a complete list of every verse it is in.
Love and the Gospel
What is something in your life that you love so much that you can use for the gospel?
I love watching movies. I am probably one of the most annoying people to sit next to in a theater though, because I don’t just watch movies. I analyze them. I break them down into small parts. I try to figure out how they are made and how they are trying to manipulate the audience. I really like science fiction, superheros, and a good “blow ’em up” movie, but I can enjoy almost anything. There are movies I don’t like, or even refuse to watch, but I do really love the medium.
Pride vs. Grace
God does NOT make junk. He gives grace to the humble.
"And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong."
(2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
