Lovingkindness Reading Plan
Chesed- God’s Love OT
My favorite word is “Lovingkindness”. It is made up by Bible translators that come from the Hebrew word “chesed”. It means: “unmerited favor towards a covenant partner.” It appears about 250 times in the Bible, and this is a complete list of every verse it is in.
It is long, and without context it can be confusing so take as much time as you need. When I went through the list, (in NIV which it is never translated lovingkindness, opting instead for ‘enduring love’ a majority of the time,) it took me about 2.5 hours. It may take you weeks. It is not a race, it is a resource.
If you are studying covenants in the Bible right now, I hope this is the cherry on top to your study! If you never have heard of a covenant before, I hope this causes you to dig deeper! It will change your life!
